How Plantar Fasciitis Is Diagnosed

Doctors can easily detect plantar fasciitis by looking at the symptoms alone. However, for some, they may have to recommend undergoing other tests such as X-ray or ultrasound to rule out other conditions that may cause similar signs and symptoms such as fracture or to see whether there are bones protruding causing the pain.

But most of the time, the doctors can diagnose it with a physical examination. Your doctor will check tenderness or swelling on your feet. Doing some simple maneuvers can detect whether the pain can be reproduced. Depending on the severity of the symptoms, the doctor may recommend medications, exercises, and perhaps laser treatment.
